Matthew Hardner has spent most of life in the culinary profession, tapping into many different nationalities across the globe. A native of Gisborne New Zealand growing up in vegetarian household he was of the understanding the norm was walking out to his dads garden to pick fresh vegetables and fruits to cook that day. 

Working in Australia, South East Asia, Florida, North Carolina where getting a feel for local and sustainable product became all important covering Italian, French and Pan Asian styles of cooking to find himself in New York City honing his skills and getting back to commonwealth roots at Highlands gastro pub.
